I'm not a chemist. Unfortunately, the periodic table was never my strong suit. However, I woulda like to address this blog in the name of -and vein of- chemistry. Hydrogen peroxide (H2O2) is one of those products that no one really pays attention to. It can be purchased in massive quantities at a very low cost, and yet I am always astounded by its usefulness.
Tooth whitening and oral care:
-After brushing, rinse vigorously with H2O2 to clean and whiten teeth.
Toilet bowl cleaner:
-I have yet to try this, but I think by adding a cup of H2O2 to the toilet water will help clean and brighten the toilet bowl.
Ear infection reliever:
-This proves an invaluable use for H2O2 every time. Dip a Q-tip into H2O2 at the initial onset of an ear infection and insert into the ear canal for one minute. Repeat twice a day for one-two weeks.
Hair bleach:
-Add a tablespoon of H2O2 to hair while shampooing, every other day. Hair will lighten gradually.
Lighten and brighten white clothing:
-Add 1/2 cup H2O2 to a load of whites to remove stains and brighten white clothing garments.
Improve overall health:
-Hydrogen peroxide consists of two oxygen molecules, which can help oxidate the blood supply. By adding a tablespoon of H2O2 to an 8oz. glass of water, the body's oxygen supply will be increased, aiding in brain & lung function, and muscle performance.
